Remedial Massage

Remedial massage is the assessment and treatment of a muscular dysfunction, supported by a treatment plan and documented treatment notes.

Is Remedial Massage right for me?

  •   Remedial Therapy is designed for patients who have injured their muscles, ligaments, tendons and other soft tissues.
  •   This massage reduces pain and tension by releasing pressure of muscles in spasm, and addresses tendon and ligament complaints.
  •   Studies have shown that remedial massage provides positive benefits for insomnia, headache, depression and anxiety, back pain, arthritis, high blood pressure, chronic pain and constipation.

Will it hurt?

This type of massage, together with sports and deep tissue massage, will most likely work on sore, tender muscles so you may experience some discomfort if too much pressure is applied. Make sure to tell your therapist to adjust the pressure - your massage shouldn't hurt!

Sports Massage

A manual therapy, manipulative therapy, or manual & manipulative therapy is a physical treatment primarily used on the neuromusculoskeletal system to treat pain and disability.

Is Sports Massage right for me?

  •   Sports massage works specifically on problems resulting from athletic performance, training and injury.
  •   People with chronic pain or restricted range of motion can also benefit from sports massage.

  •   This form of massage uses techniques like those of Swedish and deep-tissue massage to stimulate blood circulation.
  •   Benefits of a sports massage include improved flexibility, reduced risk of injury and faster recovery.
  •   Men's favourite!

This is a massage technique aimed at the deeper tissue that utilises strong pressure, slow, deep strokes and friction across the structures of the muscle and fascia (also called connective tissue) to release chronic muscle tension.

Is Deep tissue Massage right for me?

  •   This type of massage loosens muscle tissues so it's perfect to remedy chronic aches and pain such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness or sore shoulders.
  •   Ideal to release toxins from muscles.
  •   Allows blood and oxygen to circulate properly through the body.

Will it hurt?

You may feel some discomfort as the massage therapist works on areas where there are adhesions or scar tissue. Remember to tell your therapist it hurts, so they can adjust the massage to your needs.
