Low Level Light Laser ( LLLT)

Low LeveL LIGHT Laser

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is the treatment of various conditions using a infra-red, low-level laser, which provides an invisible laser beam to effect a photochemical reaction at a cellular level. The laser light penetrates deeply into tissue where it is absorbed by cells and converted into energy that influences the course of metabolic processes. The laser affected, re-energized cells help to break up fibrotic tissue, reduce pain, inflammation and scar formation and help increase capillary blood vessel formation.

Is Low Level Light Therapy right for me ?

Low Level Light Laser Therapy is used in contact with the skin, directly on scar tissue, muscles or fibrotic tissue. Treatment time is usually 1 minute per point. Most treatments are 15-30 mins per session. No special safety requirements such as safety glasses and it will not burn or raise skin temperatures.

Low Level Light Laser Therapy is recognised and used worldwide for a range of conditions. The pulsed 904nm wavelength is suitable for:

  • Lymphoedema
  • Slow healing wounds
  • Fibrous lesions
  • Sprains and strains ligaments
  • Muscle spasm
  • Muscular skeletal pain

The LLLT can be used in conjunction with manual lymphatic drainage, remedial therapy and over any implants, including pacemakers, breast implants, orthopaedic implants.

What can you expect ?

  • Painless and often immediate analgesic effect at the time of treatment
  • Dramatically shortened recovery time with rapid reduction of swelling and inflammation
  • Fast softening of fibrotic tissue
  • Volume reduction over time – maintaining or improving after treatment has stopped
  • Improvement in skin texture and thickness
  • Lasting benefit and continuing improvement.
