Dry Needling

Dry needling is a invasive procedure in which a thin filament needle in inserted into the skin and muscle directly at a trigger point. Dry needling uses needles that are similar to Acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal and nervous systems based on modern neuroanatomy science.

Is Dry Needling right for me?

Dry needling relaxes contracted and sore muscles or "knots" by causing a spasm or "twitch" which sends appropriate feedback to the muscle to inhibit or stop its spasm.

Dry Needling has found to be an extremely and long lasting method of treatment for soreness and muscle pain.

Can stimulate neural pathways which blocks pain by disrupting pain messages being sent to the central nervous system.

Also stimulates a local healing response in the dysfunctional, painful tissue, effectively improving normal function through the body's intrinsic and natural healing process.

Will it hurt?

Most people do not feel the insertion of the needle. There can be a "twitch" which is a desired outcome and is what leads to the muscle repair. Some people describe this as a little electrical shock; others feel it is more like a cramping sensation.
